Be Free From Fear Through Journaling

Do fears and phobias interfere with your achieving your goals and dreams? Did you know that there are effective tools and techniques available (I know of 22 of them) for overcoming fear and living life free from fears and phobias? One of these powerful tools is Journaling. Let’s talk about how you can use the power of Journaling to live your life free from fear.

Before we can explore how journaling can help you become free from fear, we need to talk about how journaling differs from keeping a diary, as this difference is crucial to the success of this tool. In a diary, you primarily are recording the events of your life. A journal is less of a historical record than a place where you can write down your feelings about the things that are happening in your life. In particular, people tend to use their journals to express their negative feelings about their life’s events.

One form of journaling that’s particularly powerful in conquering fear is to write about past events that scared you or left you helpless. Such events often still resonate in our current lives, in the form of irrational fears based in those long-past events. Used well, a journal can help you to work through your feelings about events that have hurt you deeply. As you work through these feelings, they will automatically loosen their grip on you.

Another form helps you deal with your fears about the possible consequences of actions or decisions you will be making. In this case, you would write out your fears, then write down ways you could cope even if these worst case scenarios do come to pass. Making these fears concrete by writing them down, then showing yourself that you can handle whatever happens, often leaves you free from fear of taking the action in the first place.

And don’t forget that this is only one of the techniques for curing fears and phobias I would like to share with you. There are many more you can try. Learn to Be Free From Fear by Rewriting It

Are your fears keeping you from living the life you want? Did you know that there are powerful tools and techniques available for overcoming fear and living life free from fear? One powerful approach is called Rewriting the Fear. Let’s talk about how Rewriting your thoughts lets you live your life free from fear.

The key to Rewriting the Fear is understanding that your body reacts to what you believebelieve about the situation, not to some absolute outside reality. Convince yourself something is harmful or dangerous and you’ll feel fear. But if you can instead choose to believe something more positive about the situation, your body will have no reason to generate a fear response. It all depends on what you believe about the situation.

That’s easier said than done. Or is it? You don’t want to lie to yourself, and you don’t have to. We interpret everything that we experience. And if we put our minds to it, we can always come up with an alternate interpretation of our experience. So the most basic approach to Rewriting the Fear asks you to change your interpretation. Instead of just assuming that your negative first interpretation of a situation is the correct one, come up with other plausible interpretations that fit the facts, but don’t have such negative repercussions for you. Let’s look at an example of what I mean.

Your best friend snarls at you and walks away when you ask how their day has been. You can interpret this in the worst possible light and become afraid that your friend doesn’t like you anymore. But their behavior doesn’t necessarily have anything to do with you, and you can choose to interpret it differently. Maybe they had a fight with their significant other. Maybe their car broke down. Maybe they’re sick. Their behavior doesn’t necessarily have anything to do with you or your friendship.

Rewriting fear is such a powerful tool that people who are practiced in it can use it to turn almost any negative-seeming situation into a positive one. By exploring alternative interpretations of the situation (by rewriting your fear) your fear will fade as you see all the brighter possibilities inherent in the situation.

Rewriting the Fear is just one of the many techniques for curing fear I would like to share with you. If you would like to learn more about how to apply this technique as well as learn about 21 more tools that can help you cure fear permanently, please CLICK HERE.
