Use your imagination to reduce your stress levels

We all have stressful periods in our lives. A lot of us are walking around unconsciously holding stress in our bodies. It’s been there like a weight, slowly destroying our wellbeing. I’m going to introduce you to the 60 second anti-stress exercise. Once you’ve practiced this a few times you will be able to reduce your stress levels whenever you need.

Now, the important thing here is to note that this is a form of self-hypnosis … not in the ’spooky swinging-watch look-into-my-eyes’ type … but of the sort that you do naturally to yourself all the time – an purposful use of day-dreaming for your health. (Shhhhh …. don’t let anyone know, but this is on of the secrets of hypnosis – shifting state!)

So how do you change your stress levels in 60 seconds? You’ll have to practice a bit but the key is to immerse yourself in a real or imagined memory of something pleasant … not as an intellectual thing, but as a full sensory experience.

Try the following:

  1. Make sure you are in a comfortable, non-disturbed environment (at least when you start-off to practice this).
  2. Close your eyes and recall a time when you experienced a wonderful feeling of release … perhaps walking along the beach at sunset or maybe that romantic date you had when …
  3. Begin by pretending you can see the memory from a God-like perspective and as you do imagine floating down into the ‘you’ that is in that memory … as if you were there.
  4. Run the scene in your imagination as a movie … as if you were there.
  5. See things in color and as you do, recall any sounds that were there … sounds that you can hear now in this scene you are participating in.
  6. Take the feeling that you begin to feel and let it amplify in your body.
  7. Bask in the imagined memory, first person, surround sound, with the feeling you felt then welling through you in the present.
  8. And gently open your eyes.

You should have quite dramatically changed your state by doing the above exercise. Learning how to hypnotise yourself isn’t as difficult as you might imagine! Practice makes perfect. Imagine different memories. Imagine something totally made-up if that works. Try out a few different imaginary scenarios and work out which one most improves your stress levels when used in this exercise.

Make a promise to yourself to become more aware of when you are holding onto stress and use that as a trigger to do the exercise.

What Happens when you have a Hypnotherapy Session

Much in modern hypnotherapy is owed to Milton H. Erickson, who believed that subjects could be put into a state of trance through conversational story telling, rather than using the old Freudian – you are feeling sleepy method. Ericksonian hypnosis thought that particular phrases could spark the mind and have an affect on an individuals behavior, whether they were in a trance or not. This belief is at the heart of NLP hypnosis otherwise known as Neuro Linguistic Programming, which is one of the techniques of hypnosis used in hypnosis sessions to assist folks overcome several mental and physical complaints.

Patients undergoing hypnotherapy, stage hypnosis or those that use self hypnosis cds move from their normal waking state to a stage of deep relaxation, where they breathe deeper, their body feels heavier and their mind starts to get more absorbed. Next in the state of trance, the subject will feel deeply engaged in the words or pictures the therapist presents and there is dissociation from critical thoughts. The patient is then open to suggestion and will respond and comply with the hypnotherapists suggestions. Following the experience, patients frequently report feeling euphoric and like they had just had the best night of sleep ever, even though the session only lasted several minutes.

Hypnosis Hypnotherapy is employed to treat a wide range of physical and mental complaints. Most recently, researchers learnt that the mind plays a vital function in pain management, especially with cancer patients or those undergoing surgery. Studies show that hypnosis meditation can reduce a person’s need for medication and shorten recuperation time. Thinking negative thoughts can lead to stress, which has important ramifications on the body. It can interrupt a woman’s menstrual cycle, produce a cold sore, make an individual ill with a cold, disrupt sleep patterns, generate ulcers, facilitate hair loss, exacerbate psoriasis, lead to heart disease and contribute to obesity. Today, hypnosis sessions are used in the treatment of asthma, anxiety, sleepwalking, nail biting, smoking, colitis, insomnia, addiction, bed wetting, fibromyalgia, IBS, eczema, psoriasis, acne, migraine headaches, stress, tinnitus, cancer pain, eating disorders, phobic disorders, depression and the pain of childbirth.

In spite of overwhelming clinical evidence, hypnotherapy is still considered a pseudo science. The scientific community is at odds over techniques such as hypnotic suggestion, acupuncture, magnetism and several other natural alternative cures. However, most doctors will advocate a combination of therapies to treat their patients, frequently combining medication with a form of counseling. The mind is undoubtedly the most mysterious part of the body, with so much left to be discovered about how the mind and body work in concert. Maybe with the increasing applications of MRI technology, more studies will reveal the mind’s miraculous possibilities.

Self-Hypnosis

Co-published by: Drywall Panel Hoist. As human beings, most of us tend to live like machines, not giving our body a break to even sit and relax, to smell the fresh flowers and to take in the surroundings. We are so stressed out at times that we end up doing all the wrong things instead of working off our potential. Rarely do we think that there is more to what we achieve. Life is short, and not every moment can be measured in monetary terms. Having a healthy life is more important than money. It is essential that we have a relaxed mind, an enhanced physical well-being and of course prolonged life.

Taking the easy way out is not always the best option. You may have seen people running to their psychiatrist, when they realize that they can’t take it anymore. For them, it’s now or never. Sometimes they end up spending thousands for such sessions, but ending up with no result. Little do they know that ‘they’ themselves can achieve a stress-free life, but only if they’d use the right technique. Self-hypnosis is something like that.

Self-hypnosis is proved to be a skill that any living, breathing human being candevelop on. Meditation is somewhat similar to this method. With time, this skill is known to help reduce stress, promote relaxation and enhance your day-to-day activities. Now isn’t that what we all want?

Simply put, self-hypnosis is basically a person hypnotizing him or herself. This is where our subconscious mind comes into play. Patience and practice are the main requisites that will help you create the changes you desire. We all know that our conscious mind plays a bigger role than the subconscious. What Self-hypnosis does is, it gets into the subconscious mind and loosens the potential that’s locked within us.

An advantage of using the self-hypnosis technique is that it makes you mentally strong. An improved attitude can create wonders. Anxiety and an increased level of stress can lead to ailments such as migraines, insomnia, blood pressure, etc. Self-hypnosis is a technique that many doctors today encourage their patients to go through as it helps cure such ailments.

Obese individuals or people who have hunger pangs every 10 to 30 minutes can overcome their over-eating habits by self-hypnosis. Now you may wonder what self-hypnosis has to do with the latter.

As you know, hypnosis is something like putting your conscious mind to sleep and awakening your subconscious mind. It is really the brain that does all this. When this happens, your metabolism rate is also under the control of the brain. Therefore, self-hypnosis leads the way to changing your body metabolism, which helps in losing weight. Practicing self-hypnosis will not only help you lead a stress-free life, it can also bring you the happiness you always wanted by having a slim figure and being in more control of yourself. Who would have known that shedding those extra pounds was this easy!

Learn Hypnosis

Co-submitted by: Drywall Panel Hoist. Having the desire alone won’t be sufficient if it’s hypnosis you want to learn about. There may be many who want to learn the subject, however only a few make their way to the top. It really isn’t hard as it seems. Experts in the field say that even with the slightest effort, anyone could learn at least the basics behind hypnosis. Although it would be advantageous to get the guidance of professional hypnotists, not everyone can afford the time or money for such sessions. So if it is learning hypnosis that you wish for, what exactly is holding you back from achieving your goal?

It may seem easier said than done, but you must first realize that you won’t end up as a professional hypnotist within a day. Learning hypnosis is a step by step procedure that {canshould} be practiced daily if possible at your home. No one would be able to gain the knowledge in the twinkling of an eye. Learning hypnosis requires patience and of course a lot of practice. Whether you are a novice or simply interested in improving the hypnosis skills you already have, one must master this technique if they are to achieve the desired outcomes.

Learning hypnosis requires a blend of will power, patience and motivation by the learner. It does not matter from where you get the information, as long as it’s valid and truthful. Instructions are to be followed and practiced properly.

Another basic element in the whole ‘learning hypnosis’ course of action; the individual must have a belief in the subject.  What’s the use of going ahead with the learning if you find it funny and hard to believe? Hence, it is up to you to first believe in the subject and then try to hypnotize yourself as an initial attempt before proceeding to hypnotize others. If you are able to do this, you will experience calmness in your mind and body, and realize the extraordinary power of hypnosis.

Another important aspect you should keep in mind when learning hypnosis is the amount of power a person will be able to achieve. It is not about having financial power or physical power. The power mentioned here is the ability to put a person to a hypnotic trance by relaxing his or her mind, body and soul. If a person is to acquire such knowledge and training, then one must practice different kinds of hypnosis techniques that can be learnt from a professional hypnotist or by attending classes in various educational institutes.

If a hypnosis technique was successful on one person, don’t expect it to work on another person the same way. Treating different kinds of situations requires the application of different hypnosis techniques. Being aware of your surroundings and working parallel to that will create wonders, especially when you use covert hypnosis techniques. There are many books, tutorials, workshops, online articles and lectures on the study of hypnosis that can be easily accessed. If you are someone who is in search of a way to learn about hypnosis, it is better to refer the different means that provide knowledge on the subject.

Learn how to hypnotize

For more visit us at: Drywall Panel Hoist.  It wouldn’t be surprising if the word hypnosis or rather ‘hypnotist’ invokes images of a villain trying to put another person to a hypnotic state by swinging his pocket watch back and forth. I guess that’s what watching too many movies does to the brain! Hypnosis actually involves two parties; the hypnotist and the patient. Once achieved, it is a state of mind that gives access to our subconscious mind; the mind that has potential but which we keep locked most of the time.

To get a better idea about this whole process, we must first learn hypnosis, what it is about and what it stands for. We must not get this confused with sleep Yes, hypnosis is often described as a sleep-like trance, but it can be defined as a state that is characterized by resolute attention, heightened suggestibility and extraordinary fantasies.

A hypnotist is more like a tutor, or a coach who guides the patient to that hypnotic state. Once the individual is under hypnosis, the brain starts to emit waves and enters into a mode of hyper suggestibility. Hypnosis is not something that can be forced on an individual. It can only be done on someone who is willing to share or reveal his or her subconscious mind.

Information regarding hypnosis is in abundance today, hence anyone interested in the subject can obtain what he or she needs without much effort. Learn hypnosis from home, learn hypnosis to cure anxiety, learn hypnosis online, etc are some of the many topics that can be found by surfing the web as well as browsing various books, etc.

There are several ways you can learn hypnosis. One way would be to learn about it by doing a course or embarking in a degree program. Workshops on hypnosis are also held in many places, so that could be the next option. Another way would be to get acquainted in an online distance learning program.

An advantage of globalisation is that manuals, CD’s, DVD’s, books, etc from around the world can be brought to your doorstep with the click of a button. Online programs give you the satisfaction to learn hypnosis in the comfort of your home. The only thing you’d need is a computer and of course access to the World Wide Web. For people who have a fear or feel self-conscious, then the ideal method to learn hypnosis is to do the course at home as you are able to hide your skills until you are sure of being proficient at them.

Hypnosis is a subject that has a vast history since ancient times and has grabbed the attention of many. The experience of hypnosis can vary dramatically, depending on the individual who has gone through it. It is like the key to Pandora’s Box. Our mind is like a treasure box, waiting to be opened, and if you learn hypnosis, that could be one of the ways to discover what’s beneath all that rubble.

Hypnosis training

With Help Of: Drywall Panel Hoist. Whether you are in need of a confidence boost or want to have a slim figure, quit various kinds of unhealthy habits and want to have a better relationship with your other half, hypnosis training has come a long way in achieving all that and more. Why do you think people are so interested about the whole hypnosis process? Even though some think hypnosis training is something difficult to learn, it is all a myth. Hypnosis training has long ago been accepted by many as it can help a person get what they want out of life.

Psychiatrists are famous for using this method on their patients to relieve them from their daily stresses. There are all sorts of hypnosis training programs that are conducted by institutions. If you have decided that hypnosis is the field of study you are interested in, then all you have to do is enrol in a program and try to learn the procedure.

One of the most famous and powerful forms of hypnosis training is learning covert hypnosis. Covert hypnosis training gives the individual the ability to hypnotize people without them being aware of it. This is generally done by using certain postures and gestures that can relax the mind of the receiver and make him or her more susceptible to what the hypnotist is trying to say.

I believe that famous public speakers like Martin Luther King and Abraham Lincoln had a similar ability. If you are able to listen to any of their speeches, you will experience the same feeling where millions used to feel at that time. Their conversational skills were so superb that anyone who stopped to listen would basically turn into stone pillars. You too can be someone like that or even close by getting proper covert hypnosis training. All you’d need is to be soft spoken, have a controlled, soothing voice that would relax the receiver and you could be on the track of hypnotizing another party.

Have you noticed how some business leaders strive in their field of expertise and some fail? Everyone can talk, but if you are in the sales field and you don’t express the right words, you could obviously lose a sale. Hypnosis training done on polishing your conversational skills, also known as covert hypnosis training can give you the necessary backup in being a better public speaker, more creative as well as facilitate in getting positive responses from the client.

Hypnosis training requires only a little time from your day to day activities. But of course it is necessary that you have plenty of patience and practice a lot. With regard to covert hypnosis training, all you need to know is the proper language and sharpen the skills you have.

Hypnotherapy

Co-submitted by: Drywall Panel Hoist. Can anyone be hypnotized? Well, that’s quite a tricky question. Some people think that being hypnotized is a frightening experience and it is similar to what they have seen in dramatic Hollywood movies. The truth is that today hypnosis therapy is one of the most sought after remedies in helping patients deal with traumatic events in their lives. It does not stop there. Hypnosis therapy also helps people regain their confidence and self-esteem. To get a better understanding about who can be and who can’t be hypnotized, the Experts in the field have categorized the population in to three sections. The hypnosis therapy will then be carried out depending on the type of person you are.

The ‘Apollonians’ are the people who are the most difficult from the three. They don’t take no for an answer, and are quite rational in their decision making. Trying to put them into a hypnotic trance would make the hypnotist jump out of the window. It can be ‘that’ difficult and time consuming.

The middle range or the one’s who are known to be fair hypnosis subjects are the ‘Odysseans’. They tend to think from the head and heart, and usually go through a middle path in everything. The best individuals who can be subjected to hypnosis therapy are the ‘Dionysians’. Dionysians are known to be the best because they can be hypnotized without difficulty. They put a lot of trust on their hypnotist and tend to believe what they suggest. Since they are less rational, having them around means less work and effort from the hypnotist.

Is hypnosis therapy dangerous? That would be the next question to ask. Again, it depends on the hypnotists as well as the individual who is subjected to the session. The world we live in isn’t as beautiful as it seems. There are enough and more people who can lead us the wrong way. This can be the case with some hypnotists.

It’s true that hypnosis therapy can be abused and misused by many. It is a fact that once we are in a hypnotized trance, our subconscious mind becomes susceptible to the outer world. When we become vulnerable, there is always the tendency to believe in whatever the hypnotist says. Unfortunately, if you are having a session with a hypnotist who doesn’t have any good intentions, then you are sure to be misguided and even exploited. It is always better to question the hypnotists about any doubts you may be having before submitting yourself to a hypnotic trance. Your objective during the whole course should be discussed, and once they supply you with honest answers, you can begin your session.

Although there are a few evil minded hypnotists out there, hypnosis is still a subject that should be taken seriously. It has grown famous among many because it has been a method used to cure all sorts of ailments. Millions of people have benefitted from this process. Additionally, the use of hypnosis therapy among people around the world has also been noted for being able to help a person achieve confidence and self-esteem. Besides these advantages, medical sources say that pain related issues such as surgeries, childbirth, effects from chemotherapy, etc can be reduced by using hypnosis therapy on the patient.

Hypnosis techniques 2

Sent by: Drywall Panel Hoist. Many people have heard of it, but only a few have really experienced and gone into the depth of it. Hypnosis is a subject that has grabbed the attention of a number of people and is being used among many qualified doctors as a remedy to cure various illnesses and behavioural states. Whatever said and done, the proven fact is that after going through many hypnotic sessions individuals overcome a wide range of habits, phobias etc have been able to overcome these situations all thanks to hypnosis and what it does to the mind and body. Being hypnotized isn’t about you being put to sleep. The truth is; hypnosis is an intermediary state of mind between sleep and being awake. In other words, you are not fully asleep even though you’ll look like it. You will still be aware of the words being spoken to you.

Depending on their individuality, the hypnotist or the therapist will use different kinds of hypnosis techniques, which will vary from one patient to another. But, over all, we can state a few techniques that will include attention, relaxation, the subconscious mind, the unconscious mind and suggestions.

If you are a movie fan, you may have seen people being hypnotized by staring hard at some pendant or pocket watch being swung in front of their eyes. Hypnotists do this when they want to hypnotize their subject. Why do you think this happens? The reason behind this is because it makes the patient or the individual focus his attention on an object. Once the hypnotist is sure to have grabbed the attention of the patient, he or she will be asked to listen to whatever the hypnotist has to say.

During this session, the person will start to relax since it is the most important thing when it comes to all hypnosis techniques. The hypnotists or the therapist will help the patient achieve the highest level of relaxation by uttering words that will soothe and calm his mind. Once the therapist identifies that the patient’s body is fully relaxed, he will move on to the next level, which is much deeper and interesting.

Getting into the subconscious mind is easier than the unconscious mind.  This can be done by visualizing something. For instance, the person could imagine himself entering a castle like house with different rooms. But if you are to go in depth to the unconscious mind, getting the help of a hypnotist or an experienced therapist is advisable. Once the person is in a hypnotic trance, suggestions can be expressed.

The most vital aspect of hypnosis techniques is the part where you have to make suggestions. Suggestions are basically words or phrases that are positive and constructive, which are directed at the hypnotized person. Directing such words are meant to support or help the patient achieve what he’d want to, something which he wouldn’t have been able to achieve if he or she was faced with reality.

Experts in this field usually suggest that individuals will be benefitted by using trustworthy hypnosis techniques instead of using fake methods and falling into trouble.

Hypnosis technique 1

Co-authored by: Drywall Panel Hoist. There are over a hundred different kinds of hypnosis techniques out there. However, before choosing the hypnosis technique that will suit you, it is important that you get a better understanding of the behavioural traits that you wish to change by going through the whole process. Once this is done, you can safely look into the hypnosis technique that will work best on you.

Every human being on planet Earth is different; no one person is the same. So obviously their suggestive abilities would differ from one another. That is why we must first understand ourselves and then select the best hypnosis technique that works.

The study of hypnotism is vast and includes hundreds of hypnosis techniques. These could include the Traditional hypnosis method, Ericksonian hypnosis method, Isomorphic metaphor method, Embedded Command, etc.

When it comes to the Traditional hypnosis technique, the therapist would make direct suggestions to the unconscious mind of the patient. This method of course works well for people who would readily accept what they are being told, without asking too many questions, etc. If you are more of an inquisitive type of person who’s unable to grasp a single thing without first analyzing it, then this method would not be suggested as it would only create problems in the long run.

Fortunately or unfortunately, the present generation today has been taught to question everything before accepting anything. When this becomes the case, hypnotists who are familiar with the traditional method usually change back into a different hypnosis technique in order to achieve the desired results. This is where the Ericksonian hypnosis technique becomes effective. No matter how sceptical you are, this method works best for individuals who have a problem with digesting what’s being said, and is better at reaching and influencing the unconscious mind. Perfecting this method requires years of practice and training.

Another hypnosis technique is the use of Isomorphic metaphors.  What happens here is that the therapist makes suggestions in relation to a story, by using metaphors. The patient’s mind is then made to grab bits and pieces from the story and relate it to the elements of the problem or situation at hand. Using this hypnosis technique can be seen as effective in getting the person to realize that a certain action he or she has done was not right. As a result, the person’s behaviour could be improved.
The hypnosis technique ‘Embedded Command’ works well by distracting the conscious mind. In this case the therapist will relate a story that will help distract the patient’s conscious mind and get their brain engaged on the story. In the story itself, the person will find hidden indirect suggestions made and accepted by the unconscious mind. The surprising effect of this hypnosis technique is that the hypnotized person will take in whatever the therapist says, without even realizing it.

There are two sides to every story. Likewise, these hypnosis techniques come with their advantages as well as the disadvantages so it is better to have a proper understanding about who you are and what you really need before embarking on any hypnosis technique.
